Reuge is the only company offering a complete range of musical movements, all entirely made and assembles in Sainte-Croix, Switzerland. A Reuge music box design ranges from the very traditional, Sorrento style inlay to the Art Deco and avant-garde look. the company has developed many innovative designs responding to the ever-changing market demand. In 1865, a watchmaker by the name of Charles Reuge settled in Sainte-Croix, Switzerland, to make musical pocket watches. In 1886 under the name Reuge, his son Albert opened the first workshop of musical movement. Around 1960, his ancestors, Guido and Albert, entrepreneurs with innovative ideas, recommended the manufacture of luxury musical movements, after an interruption at the turn of the century. In 1988 a group of Swiss inventors purchased Reuge SA and began an ambitious restructure and modernization of the company. The new management team has led the company into the 21st century, while at the same time preserving the high level of traditional craftsmanship and unique skills which have earned the company its enviable position.
